UK outlines its strategy for a green future. A Government paper sets out its 25-year plan on how it will improve the environment, within a generation. It includes plans to crackdown on plastics, help wildlife thrive, and investigate the feasibility of an anti-poaching taskforce to tackle the illegal wildlife trade. It also plans to deliver a “Green Brexit” by consulting on a new environmental watchdog, and seek to embed a “net environmental gain” principle so development delivers environmental improvements, and connect people with nature.
